Joel L. Corcoran (Cokay) a resident of Crestview, Florida, passed away on May 12, 2017. He was born October 28, 1984 in Landstuhl, Germany where he lived for the first seven months of his life before relocating to Montgomery, Alabama.

Upon graduation from high school, Joel enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as an Aviation Machinist Mate for 13 years, including deployments on board the U.S.S. George Washington and U.S.S. Enterprise. During his career, he earned four Navy and Marine Achievement medals for his excellent leadership and mechanical skills. In April 2017, Joel was honorably discharged from the Navy and begun his next career working as a crane mechanic for Sparrow in Slidell, Louisiana.

Joel loved spending time with his family, whether it was hunting with his grandfather, building legos with his sons, spending quality time with his wife Caress, or hanging out, socializing, and grilling with his friends. Other favorite past times included working on his truck, riding his motorcycle with friends, and listening to a variety of music. He loved to have fun and was always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it.

Joel will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Caress Corcoran; son Carter, step-son, Brendan; parents Stephen and Sherrell Starr of Prattville, Alabama; grandparents Leo and Betty Headley, and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
